I never really got a chance to experience the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade growing up, so I figured I'd do it now. And it was glorious. Enjoy!

Pssst. Hey. It's me, Scott's second channel. We're having all kinds of fun over here. Come hang out.

I know we’re talking about the parade, but we gotta acknowledge the Dog Show that happens right after. The family gathers around picking their favorite dogs and then yelling at the TV like we’re watching a horse race

When Scott said "name something bad that happened in 2008, I'll wait" I genuinely thought there would be a chart showing the 2008 recession. I thought that was going to be the joke.

Knives Out is an all-timer Thanksgiving movie. It's got impeccable November vibes and it's all about a big family gathering in a house and arguing. Perfection.

If you haven't seen Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, it's a treat. Not quite as classic as Halloween and Christmas but who doesn't love watching Snoopy box the chair?

I was IN the 2008 parade!! 😄
I was taking classes at the Alvin Ailey Dance School and was one of the students invited to join Company dancers in the parade to celebrate their 50th anniversary.
It was cold and we were walking/dancing behind the police horses that kept shutting everywhere, but it was such a fun experience to be a part of.

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles is the ultimate Thanksgiving movie that I grew up on. John Candy and Steve Martin? You can’t miss with that duo!

Plus the “I like me” speech is an all-timer.

I marched the Macy's Parade in 2017 with my high school marching band in 2017. It was a very surreal experience. My hands were frozen solid, everyone was cheering wether we were playing or not, we almost missed out cue for the section where we were being filmed for tv, and at the end of the parade everyone thought I was famous because I was wearing a big ol bass drum with a fancy Thanksgiving Day Parade drumhead. Like I said, surreal.

Scott: Name one bad thing that happened in 2008.
The financial crisis: *visibly sweating*

As someone who was born in '97, it's nice to know that my very first Thanksgiving was so violent.

Editing to add that Bob's Burgers has great Thanksgiving episodes

scott and his family are exactly what i picture when someone says "american", and in the best way possible. I love watching this guy talk about wild shit that is somehow completely normal there, it's great 😂

Fun fact- they do a huge run through of the parade for camera moves at 2am that day. The streets are littered with half asleep teenage band kids (I was one of them)

I was a Macy's employee in the NYC metro area from 1987-92 while in college, and participated in the 88, 89, 90, & 91 parades as a ballon handler. Spiderman, Woody Woodpecker, Shamu, & Pink Panther were the balloons I had. I always looked forward to the day of the parade. What Macys did was provide transportation from your store (all the NY, NJ, & CT locations), took you to either Herald Square or the Newark warehouses to dress in your specific colour matched coveralls for that years ballon (red & blue for Spiderman & Woody Woodpecker, pink for Pink Panther, Shamu was just plain white), then bus you to the parades starting point around 72nd St IIRC. You then went to breakfast on their dime at a local cafe. Once you passed the tv cameras at the 34th St. store entrance, the balloons were then deflated by just unzipping them. That helium was so cold that it dried out your fingers immediately if you weren't wearing gloves. Good memories, man.

As a 20 yr old I cannot wrap my head around the fact that there was a Macy's Thanksgiving Parade like 2 months after 9/11. Just 3 miles away. Like. Something that is usually my favorite part of Thanksgiving that I associate with childhood innocence & joy taking place in the shadow of that tragedy. Like. Damn. Why have I never thought of this before?

Don't let scott know about the 2008 housing crisis, it'll ruin his day.

Free Birds is an amazing Thanksgiving. It's the one where they go back in time to the first Thanksgiving to get turkeys off the menu. That's right, they go back in time to first Thanksgiving to get turkeys off the menu.🦃

It’s my tradition to watch the parade every year. I’m a NY native and I’ve never seen it in person, but I’ll HAPPILY watch on the couch with my coffee every year lol. It’s just such a staple of the season and the work that goes into the entire production blows my mind

Actually love Scott inviting those who aren’t celebrating the holidays with family to spend it with him. That’s a really sweet sentiment, thanks Scott!
