Facing the choir and orchestra at the conclusion of the Pentecost concert on Saturday, 27 May 2023, the international church leader, Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider, thanked the musicians for a brilliant performance.

“You have allowed the Holy Spirit to convey His message through your voices and through your instruments,” said the Chief Apostle. “That’s the way I experienced the concert this afternoon. God tells me, ‘Don’t fear — I am here. I’m in the midst of My own, of My people. This is My church, this is My home, and this is your place.’”

Two pieces on the concert program were original compositions by the Regional Church Southern Africa: “I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes” by Walter Cupido and an arrangement of “The Lord Is My Light” by John Rodriques, the head of music of the New Apostolic Church Southern Africa. The audience was thrilled and rewarded both performances with thunderous applause.

Here we have the second of the two original compositions, “The Lord Is My Light,” composed by John Rodriques. Based on Psalm 27, this piece features the Cape Town Choir & Orchestra. Psalm 27 is a powerful expression of faith and trust in God, declaring, "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" The composition beautifully captures the essence of the psalm, conveying a message of divine protection and assurance.
