dont go to supermarket if you are hungry - eat first then buy your groceries. Dont buy instant on Things you wish. If you wish a new yeans - dont buy and think 7 days if you really want it. Sure - if your only 1 yeans is torn apart, go and get a new one but most time people have too much clothes so they not really need the 6 blue yeans... Make a 1 week mealplan - what you want to cook and what you have to buy for it - check what you already have and plan what do do with the leftovers as many things you only need some tomato and not the whole bunch it is selling in - so plan what do do with the rest of food - for other meal or for canning/freezing it so you dont have wasted groceries. Dont waste food: I need only a half or carrot half onion, half celery for my meal - cut the leftovers and freeze it to make a soup or make soup from the leftover and use it for another meal or can it or freeze it. Dont throw away bones or Meat you dont want on your cut - make soup out of it. If its not enough for a meaty soup then put the scraps in the freezer untill its enough for a good soup. I dont like Pigfat on my meat - i cut it away and freeze it. When i have enough i render it so i have a fat i could roast meat. Same when cooking duck_ its often so much fat in the sauce i filter out and use it later for a breadspread or for cooking fat. And if you have too much fat - make a soup out of it. I made duckfat soap and porkfat soaps - and no - it does not smell like duck or pig if done correctly.

I have been sewing for 60 years. Making clothing these days DOESN’T really save money anymore. Buying a pattern, fabric, thread buttons or zippers for a dress, could cost double of buying it. BUT go to thrift stores and buy something you can “ remake” into your clothing.
