I've canceled. Wasn't using them as much anyway, after I got my local StableDiffusion installation with much more ways to direct a picture. MJ looks good, but the only way to really get what you want is by IMG2IMG, while StableDiffusion has ControlNet and many more great extensions.

Midjourney is the normie alternative. Yes they get more realistic images but that's only for now, Stable Diffusion will eventually catch up and then people will not have a need for a censored MJ anymore

Has anyone noticed that female characters are no longer wearing revealing or hot outfits, but now every comic character generated seems to be fully dressed and less exaggerated hourglass features. How can you do Conan style art if you can’t even have hot damsels in distress?

The contempt for their own customers is revolting. As a provider of a tool restricting what the customer can do with the tool is one of the most condescending actions. This is why FOS is the only way, Midjourney isn't even a tool like SD, it's a service a centrally controlled one at that and they can deny you service or retard the tool whenever they want no matter what you want. Don't be a serf use FOS.

Their censorship is ridiculous. I also understand their need to draw some lines, and their intention for a PG-13 public feed. But the issue is their culture is Woke and toxic; they PREFER to censor than to curate. And curation would be the better solution. They had a ban list of words for months, over a year I guess, from their inception until the new AI moderation - they declined to ever publish it. That's a conscious choice that reflects cultural values.

The moderation messages - and this is perception, but I think it's valid - seem to assume guilt on the part of the paying customer when something is blocked. This is extremely unpleasant - I really like their art tool. I've paid serious money on fast hours to make art there.

With the new AI mod, I have prompts like "happy" and "laughing" to the female photoshoot images I'm generating (beautiful and classy images IMO), and that changes the prompt from accepted to banned! This was just yesterday. Repeated several times; it's confounding.

In the Midjourney server chats, when I first went to discuss the issue, I received only contempt from several actives users and moderators. They literally sneer at those whose images may push the line of PG-13; they don't care about the immense chunk of human art history that focuses on the human form, particularly the female form. Frankly, it smacks of misogyny, and possibly misanthropy. The exact comment that keeps getting reused is "But muh art!". They say that - about paying customers of their art tool. It's ironic, insulting and ridiculous. Because I happen to find tremendous beauty in women, and the female form, and their aesthetic preferences and moral values differ.

I was banned from the Office Hours chat and I did nothing wrong; it's a matter of record. I was literally responding to comments others made about globalism and Alex Jones. I commented in all sincerity that globalism and elite pedophilia are serious issues, and that the UN has a problem with pedophilia (of course they are! As if Epstein didn't happen, and as if that's the whole story; as if there's not copious evidence of widespread abuses in the UN and Unicef for example, and the UN just published a document that moves towards decriminalizing pedophilia).

I got piled on by the Leftists, some dude started screeching that I was an anti-semite for this viewpoint, and demanded I be banned; and I was, without a warning or request to change the subject (a mod stated AFTER banning me that the discussion should end).

They give shouts out to trans people in the chat, and by all the discussion, all the tone, it's quite obviously not an inclusive and safe space for anyone with different cultural values, no matter how they might express them. I had to restrain myself from giving a shout out to all straight parents for conceiving children and continuing the human race - I know where that would have got me.

For the record, I am not an anti-semite, homophobic, racist or any of that bullshit they use - weaponized words. I'm not a hater at all. I've cried and hugged a trans friend sharing hardships; I've sat naked in men's group with gay men and shared solidarity. I've worked in Africa and put my job and reputation on the line to demand better working conditions for my local workers, who I labored beside in the 110 degree summer, digging dirt and cutting bamboo. I am, in fact, more inclusive than them (Woke Leftists), because their inclusivity is only for those who accept the Leftist ideology whole-hog, and their diversity is only skin-deep (or based on whatever identity people claim). Real diversity is diversity of personality, experience, beliefs, perspective.

And that may seem like a bit of a tangential rant, but again I am trusting my perceptions; I think the main issue that drives their censorship policies is cultural, and that culture is specifically modern Western Woke-Progressive bullshit.

I'm sick of these arrogant, totalitarian asshole destroying our culture - the all-inclusive OUR, all of us - by censoring, silencing dissent, and destroying knowledge (YouTube censorship is horrific, the amazing content they delete outright, and you don't even get to see the title or info on a link they've censored).

I was a huge fan of MJ, and I still love using it; I'm not canceling yet. I can still make awesome art on MJ, just with some friction and limitations. I appreciate the amazing tool they've built. Their new app interface (finally) is coming along nicely too. But, I will be "happy/sad" to see their company crash and burn, because of their embrace of censorship, and the attitude with which they're doing it. And - I doubt that even matters to them. They're making boatloads of cash on this, and they'll be more than fine, financially (the individuals in the company). I'd prefer to see them correct course and grow up, make their culture wholesome. It really feels quite juvenile there in the community vide on Discord.

Fuck censorship. Free the human mind and spirit. Rant over.

This month is last month for me. I've been with MJ since the beginning. Used to be able to make some cool and great things, but they keep censoring more and more words. Gore is out, two-piece bikinis are no more. Now women appear all covered up at the beach! LOL! Previous prompts I have from last year now won't work, because a word or two have been banned now. Also there is "shadow-prompting" now. Some words just get ignored, no matter what weight you give them. I have some beautiful art from previous versions, beautiful characters in outfits that can no longer be reproduced in the new version, due to the censorship. Luckily I have saved every single one, and can show people how it is now changed.

Thats weird, I was in the office hours, and David said he wants to make it less censored and the new AI moderation is still buggy. People are actually comparing him to those nasty dudes from WW2. Which I think is terrible. I do agree, it is censored some, I only rarely get the warnings.

The new AI LLM moderator test had rules about what to do to appeal and if it got rejected you're supposed to post the prompt in the channel to help make sure the good stuff goes through.

For people who just want to make porn and gore, Midjourney definitely isn't the place for them.
