I feel kinda sorry for this mushroom .... considering you need to beat the shit out of him for grinding two forms and summons.

I’ve been replaying all the kingdom hearts games now that they are on Xbox Game Pass and I have to say all your guides have been incredibly helpful! I subscribed hoping that you may move on to make guides for other games I enjoy. Either way thanks for the great videos!

Not just the CUP but the secret Mineshaft dungeon with Genie in the final wave battle. Very deadly and must be precise to survive.

Your guides are the best. I got the ultima weapon easily because of your guide on it. They’re straightforward and effective. Thank you 👍🏻

if you get the timing right, you can get an extra 2-3 exp every firaga cast by timing your spellcasts correctly as the bar continually increases every time the firaga spell hits while also decreasing passively at the same time, making the summon gauge move inbetween higher and lower intervals in a very short amount of time possible. got from level 3 summon to level 7 in less than 5 minutes by doing this

You could just use the Genie summon and use the limit command for whatever drive. You don't have to wait for the drive level to go down because using Genies limit will count towards experience. Then when it gets between 1 and 0 then you can just use the fire trick to get the additional levels

Thank you so much for this video! I didn't know about this trick and I always saved my summons until last because they're such a pain. I went from level 1 to level 7 in like 10 minutes.

I've beaten this game a million times and only TODAY did I find out I missed out ON A WHOLE CUP because I never gave a shit about summons
This vid was huge I did not want to wait for my summon bars to empty out unlocked it on my old file in like 10 mins after this(was already lvl 2 somehow)

Nice! Definitely glad I came across this. I was grinding this out in the underworld and barely had the patience for it.

When I discovered my own variation of this trick yesterday (I didn't even know this one existed until today), I was already leveling up my drive forms at Agrabah with No. V of Mushroom XIII (thanks for that Dean)! I then looked at my summon level in the status menu (I needed to max out the summon level to 7 to unlock the Titan Paradox Cup, and I was at lvl 4). I then thought, "Let's summon Peter Pan, because he drains the summon gauge the quickest with his "Neverland" limit..." I ended up finding that, much like the trick described in this video, this variation also works at any summon level, AFTER you can access the Mushroom XII. The "Fatal Crest" keyblade (gained after winning the "Goddess of Fate" cup) and the "Horizontal Slash" ability are required to pull this trick off as quickly as possible (I'll explain why in a bit, if you don't already know why I mentioned these particular things). Remember to equip both in the pause menu, BEFORE starting the duel...

I start the duel, and summon Peter Pan (remember that summons cost 3 drive points each; if your Drive Gauge (or DG, for short) is at 5 or below, you can only summon him ONCE before using the DG/MP Charge trick I'll describe later). During each summon, every time you use the "Neverland" limit (which should be done as soon as it's available after summon), scroll your command cursor to "Stop" as soon as you start the limit, and press X. This negates the attacks you usually have to do before the "Journey's End" reaction command pops up, gives you 1 exp for every summon point dropped during the limit, and allows you to start the limit again quickly, if possible. If your summon level is only 1 (i.e. you're just starting to level up summons at that point), you'll only be able to do this once per summon, as the limit in question takes 5 summon points to do. You can technically do it twice on summon level 2 if you want, by selecting "Stop" immediately after starting the limit (although that becomes more useful at level 3 or above).

The only main factor left is how to get your drive back quickly after finishing your summon(s) (you can't revert your DG back to max by going to the World Map and then re-entering the world, if any of your summons finish and deplete to 0 points). First, use your summons to their maximum potential. After they finish and hit 0, deplete your MP with a Cure spell to help your Drive come back faster. Jump in the air, execute a basic attack, press Square to execute Horizontal Slash and KEEP PRESSING SQUARE! The Fatal Crest keyblade has an ability called "Berserk Charge". As long as you're in MP Charge, you can't perform any combo finisher, and your regular attacks continually loop until your MP comes back. Thus, Horizontal Slash will keep looping until MP Charge is over, as long as you CONTINUALLY press square. This means the DG will be also refilling faster than normal!

Using the Fatal Crest/Horizontal Slash/MP Charge method, it would generally take around 10, or 15 - 30 seconds to defeat the mushroom (depending on your level, your strength heading into the duel and whether you want to use a second summon before beating it). Each time you defeat the mushroom (and it claps and/or has fireworks above its head in celebration), it will reward you with 1 drive recovery. Use this after the duel to recover 3 of your drive points. If your max drive gauge is 4 or 5, it should refill it to max. If your gauge is at 6, and it doesn't fill up (it definitely WON'T refill at 7), don't panic! Just re-enter the room and restart; the mushroom will always reappear, regardless of you did before. Deplete your MP and use Horizontal Slash to refill the Drive Gauge to at least 6, then use your summons twice, and finish off the mushroom! Rinse and repeat as necessary until you reach your max available level (it was 7 for me)!

Apologies if this is too long to read; I just thought I should get my thoughts out there!

I found out about this method, and it's great, but I can add a little to it.

Thanks to the nature of the Fire/Fira/Firaga spell being a multihit attack, that means the drive gauge will fill up at fixed intervals. Meaning, if you time your hits right by hitting the shortcut immediately after it depletes to the next bar (roughly, maybe shortly after), it will fill up just enough where it goes back up, but it depletes a few frames afterwords, followed by the next hit. This means, with good timing, you can literally split the time necessary to grind by around half. Especially if you choose Stitch as your summon of choice to constantly refill your MP (or Ethers if you have the Munny). Once I found that out that little point on my own, I spent 7 minutes doing the grind from level 2 I believe.

I know this is late, but hope this helps out any newcomers. 👌

If you do it with Peter Pan, Tinker Bell will drop mp orbs, and you won't run out of magic.
