French press in my area was a very close grip, heavy (ez-curl bar) bench press for a full on triceps hit. What your showing we called a skullcrusher, also for triceps but a more experienced move (not something you go to failure with). For those who say “behind the head” that’s a variation. It should hover over your forehead. The further behind the head it goes the more lats come into play. But of course these days everyone has their own approach which works for them. Just lift!!! 😁

The f/p ought to see the weight lowered behind the head to allow a full stretch of the tricep muscle.
Obviously, anatomy and physiology are not the presenter's strong suit.

that's not a french press, they involve vertical back angle not horizontal. this isn't even a correctly done skullcrusher, grip's too wide, and it's not going behind the head.

Thats not how you do a skull crusher. The weight has to go behind your head, not towards your forehead
