Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts (Not as bad as you think)

Played it when it first came out, it was a little disappointing to see that it wasn't a "Banjo Threeie" but it quickly turned into one of the funnest games I've ever played.

Spot on! I built a giant box for the statue level on my first attempt lol. I loved trying to find ways to "break" the game, and that is exactly how the game was designed to be played.

I don't hate the game, I actually enjoyed it very much. however I was still extremely disappointed as its not what I wanted.

I'll make an analogy so you can understand why. Imaging Half Life 3 came out tomorrow, and instead of an amazing first person shooter experience like we all want, we get an RPG instead. Even if it is the greatest RPG game ever, people will still be pissed off.

It is not entirely unjustified that i'd be disappointed, considering they announced it as a Banjo-Kazooie game with their first trailer, with jiggies and collectibles, and then they do a 360 and give us ... this instead.

Its a fun game, but I did not appreciate that sudden shift one bit. I honestly don't care if it is the best car building creative game ever, I wanted a proper 3d platforming collect-a-thon.

Is that unfair to the game? probably.

I was always turned off to how they murdered the character design so I never followed up on anything besides the reveal trailer. I had no idea it was never a pure racing game

This game could honestly be great for speed runs, then they would have to get really creative. I would love to see what strats they come up with to cheese the challenges.

I remember when this game out and thought it looked really interesting, but didn't own an xbox. Wasn't really aware of the universal shitting-on it took but that's unfortunate, love the concept. Too bad people didn't give it a chance.

Banjo Nuts and Bolts isn't a bad game, it's just the fact that it basically took the place as a main game. As a side game I could've loved it, but i won't be satisfied until I get the real Banjo Threeie. Although this did inspire me to replay this game.

There now! I'm glad not everybody just bashes this game mindlessly. Is it a flawless game in the slightest? Of course not! Could it have been a little better if Rare used another IP? Probably... However, is this game a heck of a lot of fun and charming to boot? Oh, absolutely! I'm proud that I played through this bad boy twice!

People hate this game for the false advertising and being a blatant, "fuck you" to the people looking forwards to Banjo Threeie. This game itself is self aware, the Game Master literally saying that, "gamers today don't want this, they just want to shoot things!". It's sickening. If the game focused on another Rare character other than Banjo and Kazooie, it'd be a totally different story.

In my honest opinion, Nuts & Bolts is a good game, just not a good Banjo Kazooie game. But I really did enjoy this game when I first got it for my Xbox 360 back in 2009. I loved finding glitches specially glitching through walls and stuff. Oh and as for the building part, I used to build giant mechs that could fly and I had so much fun.
