We used to make these at school in South Australia as kids. You'd go to the tuck shop, buy a buttered bread roll and ask them to put tomato sauce on it and then buy a saussage roll and squash it into the roll and Bob's your mum's bruv.
A lot us did the same after we left school - we'd buy these for mornos, back in the days when meat pies, pasties and sausage rolls were the common lunch food. Today's you really only see pies, pasties and sausage rolls in service stations where you can't get a bread roll, so the thing has kinda died out.

Omg! My hometown! I made my parents watch and I shall make one for us all this week! Though I shall use plain sausage meat and not premade sausages because I can then add my beloved grated carrot and onion in as well…a bit more gourmet since we now live in Australia. I cannot wait!

So I made this with sausage meat, grated onion, res el hanout spice mix, red and brown sauce in the mix too - absolutely delish with or without making it into a sandwich. Highly recommend

As some one who lives in Warrington I can confirm dancing Chris is deadly ever time I go shopping u can't look him in the eyes
