How fast can you change a MTB tire?

As an ex professional bike mechanic, I fully endorse the garbage can for wheel changes, that’s a pro move there. He can probably get under 3 minutes if can crack the bead and unseat the tire with just his hands. Popping both sides of the bead into the rim channel will make it easier to no tire lever the change.

I was a full time bike mechanic for 3+ years and the fastest I've found and removed the problem from the tire and install a new tube and back into the bike just under 5 minutes. If you want to make sure your customer doesn't get the flat again i check the tire and wheel very thoroughly. Awesome work by the kid btw!

As a former bike shop employee I love the strategy with the rolling of the hands and the trash can the only ting I got to say is if you get a flat bud take some time to check the tire for thorns but you did amazing keep up the fast work 👍

Pro tip: it’s even faster if you pop the bead while its in the stand, rip the tube out and cut it in half to get it out. Then remove the wheel. This way the only thing you have to do on the ground is put the new tube in. Makes life a lot easier when youve got to get these done in 5 min or less for customers

Took me four days to fit an inner tube and a tire to my back wheel kit bike but I used that trick where he lays it flat on something and it makes it a lot easier 😂

As a professional bike tech myself, I think he did great! All kids "SHOULD" be able to change their bike tires/tubes like this little man!..don't have to be under 5 mins just in general, but unfortunately, kids these days just don't want to learn or lack of parents or friends teaching this generation hands-on experience and knowledge

Changing tires or tubes are shockingly easy I take a little longer doing it because I do some extra little diagnostics but I still get them done pretty quick

city rider here... you have to line the tube up to the tire and dig out whatever made the hole, or you just puncture the new tube too. you write "chain" on the chain side by the stem so you can get that right and know where to look. i'm pretty sure i can do it in 10 - that's roadside, not a shop.
