Linea Aspera é uma banda dark wave/minimal wave formada em Londres, Inglaterra, iniciada em 2011. Dupla musical, comandada pela vocalista Zoè Zanias (Alison Lewis), com Ryan Ambridge nos sintetizadores. Zanias escreve as letras enquanto Ambridge escreve a parte eletrônica, além de mixar e produzir as gravações.
Fundado em novembro de 2011, o Linea Aspera é influenciado por bandas eletrônicas da década de 1980. Um revisor relatando um show em janeiro de 2012 observou que sua música soava "muito anos 80", e que eles haviam "surgido totalmente formados" no underground musical de East London. Naquele mês, lançaram em fita cassete estendida e digital, intitulada Linea Aspera EP, que foi descrito pelo site Burning Flame como número 1 em seus 20 melhores EPs de 2012.
Algumas faixas desse EP apareceram no primeiro álbum completo, e é interessante notar as pequenas diferenças nas músicas.

Linea Aspera is a dark wave/minimal wave band formed in London, England started in 2011. A musical duo, they are fronted by vocalist Zoè Zanias (born Alison Lewis), with Ryan Ambridge on synthesizers. Zanias writes the lyrics while Ambridge writes the electronics, as well as mixing and producing the recordings.
Founded in November 2011, Linea Aspera are influenced by electronic bands from the 1980s. A reviewer reporting on a gig in January 2012 noted that their music sounded "very 80s", and that they had "sprung fully-formed" from the musical underground of East London. That month self-releasing an extended play cassette, titled Linea Aspera EP, it was described by the Burning Flame website as number one in their Top 20 EPs of 2012.
Some tracks of this EP appeared in the first full album, and it is interesting to note the small differences in the songs.
