When it comes to lifestyle motorcycles, Royal Enfield is the king of the segment. But as you can see with their new range of products, prices have risen rapidly. To arrest this slide, Royal Enfield launched Hunter 350, its most affordable modern motorcycle. At the opposite end of the spectrum, TVS entered this space with the Ronin. Both these motorcycles have the same target audience but take a different approach. Royal Enfield as expected is more traditional with the Hunter 350, while TVS has gone more radical and modern with the Ronin. In this comparison video, we try to find which bike is better or rather are they two distinct motorcycles targeted toward different riders? Watch the video to find out.

Here's a big problem with these kind of biased comparisons. On almost all fronts, ronin is a better bike but you chose to go with hunter. Most people care about quality, reliability, and durability instead of feel. This is evident from sales numbers, so it is incorrect just to evaluate things from a RE fanboy perspective. This is the reason why people are also looking for reviews from new experts on the block as mainstream channels have become promotion platforms and so-called experts share opinion instead of facts - can't be trusted anymore.

Been 12 days I got my hunter 350, i was confused between dominar 400, duke 390, and Apache rr310 and then suddenly hunter 350 was launched (never been a RE fan, well I was unaware of the upcoming RE bikes), first look made me fall for it so hard, damn looked like Triumph Street twin and Benelli leoncino 500 combined and with this amazing price tag. Hunter got looks, better engine, amazing brakes. On the very first week I went for a 2 days ride of 428 kms from Assam to Meghalaya, rode through all the terrains, handled so well in rain, off roads and the lastly the twisties and cornering (gave me ridegasms). I am gonna keep this bike forever. And the mileage was off the charts, unexpected of 39kmpl.

No Bike are perfect, they've pros and cons . But being a TVS compered with RE its a new era for TVS. They are moving you know they are uprising.

Having ridden both, I feel Ronin is the clear choice . The performance, the torque, the comfort and everything feels in place. I loved the bike, might book one soon. And about hunter 350, it’s a nice bike but feels incomplete and crude. Could have been better.

11:47 Its been almost one month since I bought Ronin and clocked 1500 kms on it, so far so good, didn't get any fuse blow out issues. I do agree there are vibes in ronin but for me who came from a 100cc bike didn't bothered me much. I feel overall ronin offered better hardware quality and better ride quality compared to hunter and I'm fully satisfied with my purchase.

Ronin is my pick, because of it's fully loaded features, reliable TVS engine - low on maintenance in comparison with RE. The exhaust note of Ronin is awesome. My 2nd option would be Dominar 250, Hunter will be 3rd Option.

I'm 5'8 and I have the same Rebel Blue Hunter. I do stay in Hyderabad and it's been pouring since last week.
I've been into many potholes and many wide speed breaker, hunter passed this test seamlessly.
At first I was a bit terrified about the ground clearance, but after riding I got a confidance that yes, we can take this bike on wide speed breakers and potholes.
I rode this on downhill areas too and it was effortless. One thing is that we need to slow down and move steadily at bumps and potholes. That's the main point here.

Having driven both, what I can confidently say is that Ronin definitely needed to look better, have a better geometry that’s a proper roadster than a mishmash. Also, they needed to space out their variants more competitively, as there’s practically nothing differentiating the base and middle variants except colours. Dual channel ABS should have been standard in middle and top, while the top could’ve had the fancy features. And please, better colours on the top end. The current ones look terrible. Sure, the handling was incredibly easy, I’ll give it that.

What Hunter has, is absolutely spiffing looks, good geometry, engine that rides better. It does not handle as well as the ronin, and could’ve done with a lot better ground clearance.

The Ronin is on the back foot simply because it’s designed differently, and the colours do nothing to make it appealing. Oh, I forgot the tacky looking DRL. That’s not easy for ppl to live with on a daily basis. And that’s why I went for the Hunter.

I bought ronin and I can tell you no other bike can give you this comfort and features at this price range period! RE Brand name won’t protect you from back pain but ronin would 🤣

How can ronin be better in everything but then suddenly RE wins

First the bs with 160 video and now with RE.

The 160 video was clearly like full of misinformation

I am 20 but root for retro motorcycles and hunter looks and rides perfectly. I find ronin to be out of proportion specifically from the back. Above all that 350 cc engine is pure gem 💎

Sad that both of them opted RE just cause they couldn't accept something different in that segment.

Clearly the man with Orange Juice is RE fan. He has completely biased opinions throughout the video. 😂 Loved the way the left guy pointed more logical points instead.

I am having both, but Ronin steals the show every day with its ride quality and that amazing Exhaust.

Price is what you pay. Value is what you get..

Ronin is value for money compared to hunter...

If TVS made a roadster or a scrambler on the Ronin's platform, that would be the clear choice. As things stand currently, I would go for one of the Japanese "sporty" commuters at this price. Stretch the budget a little higher and the CB350 is miles ahead of RE's at sea level.

I was thinking of going for one between these two.. but the power figures are just so disappointing. So what I did was remove the headlight assembly of my 12 years old Karizma and replaced it with a round headlight with LED. Also removed those plasticy half fairing. Looks much better now! Money also saved.
For interceptor!!!

On so many points the Ronin was a clear winner, the ride quality, quick acceleration, technology on offer, tyres, and basically the connect with bike. Which the Hunter lacks.
Only part where the Ronin looks a little underpowered is at higher speeds, and that is logical since it has a smaller engine.

Looking at all this the Ronin is a clear winner
