Lets Build Twitter From the Ground Up: Episode 159 || Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL and React

Building large scale application is more difficult than many people understand or expect. Join me in this long running series where I set out to duplicate one of the most popular social media platforms ever creating using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, PostgreSQL data, React JS web application framework and more.

This episode is a bit of a mess from trying to fix bugs that popup while also trying to get things done, bear with me please. In this episode we, start out by modifying the post action items to display no numbers next to them until there is at least one like, repost, or reply rather than there being a number 0. Then we work on setting up the post slice to tell the feed slice to refetch data whenever a new post is created, however we run into issues with our refactoring not updating the page number to fetch and resetting the session start time every time we wanted to fetch more posts. We debug that for a while until we moved forward with trying to reload the feed page whenever we create a new post where we run into more issues with our generated posts from the previous episode and have to completely regenerate our data without the post_id. Once we get posts working again, we have to debug the feed slice adding the new posts to the bottom of the feed rather than the top. Then we go back to tinkering with the logic to fetch the next feed page without resetting the page number and the sessionStart time.
