There are reasons why they are desperate for people and free house you will get is like those $1 homes they were giving away for someone to spend $200k to renovate. You will move to that places that have barely any signs of life. No water, electricity and closest store to buy food is 20 miles on donkey. There will be no jobs, no infrastructure and you would be lucky person to help revitalize this abandoned village
