Personally, I don't mind the bi-yearly game-update, because I see it as the cost of continual development into a game we all like to play. I ONLY buy new routes when I find something that I really like to play. There are lots of hours of gameplay in every DLC and everyone has the option to wait for Black Friday or other sales before picking up routes. Right now, I am satisfied with the content I have in TSW2, but if a sale comes up that offers a new route in TSW3 at a reasonable price, I'll go for it.

It's a firm no from me on principal. Make no mistake, this is a cash grab plain and simple. Loyalty doesn't factor into their business model. Basically re releasing the same game with some "tweaks" and forcing users into an "upgrade path" in order to continue to use what we've already paid for (twice already at last count) otherwise limiting and stopping the user from buying what future DLC THEY themselves either want or don't want. Don't tell me it's a great deal, it's smoke and mirrors and wool being well and truly pulled over our eyes yet again. Enough is enough.

Videos like this one is why I keep watching your channel. The honesty and your admiration of and hopes for well made software. I hope DTG delivers this time around, but let’s see

We all want the perfect Train sim, I really don't feel that Dovetail will ever deliver. Longer length routes are OK but if it's the exact same run time and time again it becomes boring really quickly. We need random Ai traffic and signals etc I am saving my money for now and see what happens. Thanks for the content though, always helpful 👍

I can't give this franchise any more money I'm affraid. There are numerous bugs (not to mention old ones) in TSW2 that if I'm honest with myself, I can't see them bothering with. The deeper you play this the more game breaking red aspects you find. Not to mention the outright bizarre stuff, like opening the window on tube stock only to loose all power, randomly spawning on foot when loading C33 roots, or the crazy 08 spawn on Diesel Legends that falls off the track. These DLC packs are far from new.

Shame really as when TSW does behave itself I love it. Dont know if these probs are across all platforms (get it 😁) but I can only speak for Series X.

Great vid 👍

I’m just going to do what I always do with the DTG DLC’s, which is waiting a few months to see what folks think and till they fixed some of the bugs

I no longer trust anything that Dove Fail Games say anymore.

I will admit that I have pre ordered TSW3. I am a legacy user, I’ve been here since TSW, and I have quite a few routes on TSW2. What I don’t happen to have mind you is SOS or southeastern, both of which are on my wish list.

As you can get both along with the extensions and all the new tech for £44.99 I’m in effect only paying a few quid extra for the new version of the sim, over just getting the routes for TSW2.

Now do I agree with their business model, honestly no not really, I would much prefer a base sim, that grows over the years with multiple routes or routes extending ala ATS or ETS 2, rather than a new base game every few years.

I do however enjoy the first person element of TSW, and although I do wish it was a tad more realistic, I’m not sure what the alternative product would be.

I’m just a bloke who likes sims, rather than a dedicated train fan, so really not kept up with train sim tech.

Thankyou for giving them ideas, and it does sound like you’ve had a positive effect to this product, so fingers crossed it is a sign of good things to come.

I am still debating over getting TSW3. The only Reason I want to get it, is the ICE 1.
The American Route is just another recycle with to us very similar train with a different interior.
The UK Route is a joke, a route extension as one of the main routes for a "new" game

Matt addressed the Direct 10 thing in the latest stream. He also mentioned that achivements and the training center are the 2 main reasons they decided to make a new game. Which i needed a moment after hearing that because i fell from my chair laughing. Speaking of that video, i'd love another reaction of you to the latest stream. I think you will find it interesting

Dovetail's at it again, upselling us on the same game with a few tweaks. I remember the ol' Railworks days when you got the core game upgraded for free and if you wanted the new stuff, you got a discount.

Think I'm going to pass unless they do more steam engines/vintage stuff, and they really push the boat out.

DTG are the pits! I may have mentioned this before and I hope they read this, but DTG will never ever, not ever get another penny of my hard earned dosh.

Its doesnt feel like as big of a jump as it was from 1 to 2 but i love TSW and with all past maps and DLC available in TSW3, i will continue to enjoy all there was and all there will be

Cool - so I get to buy the same route I had for TSW2. Also, they didn't deliver on the promises for TSW2, why would we bother buying TSW3? I only purchased TSW2 a year ago, so another £40 now is EXPENSIVE. These new versions should be free for existing customers - they make PLENTY on the DLCs

Oh and completely agree with you - they are not focusing on the things that bring the greatest value - direct x is a very good example of this.

Poor show Dovetail - just a moneygrab

What sort of prat pays £10 for 4 days early access? As I do not want any of the included routes. I will hang back from buying until the bugs have been ironed out and I have seen reliable usage on YouTube. Great to hear a review that does not trot out what's written on the box.

Hi mate.
I said I would never buy TSW3 after they abandoned the original NEC route from the original TSW.
They said that route would not go to the "preserved collection" because there were too many bugs and it would take too long to fix.

Why not offer the owners of this route, a free replacement route instead??

Anyway, I found the standard edition, from CD Keys, for 15 notes, so I got that and it's pretty good so far....

Thanks for the video :)

Strange! This came up on my recommendations just now, it's not showing my like or that I even watched it. I obviously did 8 days ago as I commented.

Great deal for me. I don’t own SOS, so that route alone is £24.99. The deluxe edition is £39.99. I’m getting the game for £15 technically. Win, win! 😄
