Newborn Hearing screening -Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE)

Newborn hearing screening in legally mandatory in developed part of the world.1:1000 children are born with some degree of hearing loss.
Since 90% or more babies are born to normal hearing parents, diagnosis is often delayed.
The video shows how this screening is done.A soft probe is inserted in babies ear and test is recorded.Its not painful and results are given immediately.Sometimes the baby may be called again to repeat the test.
