I never have a problem with her because Lydia is always backup in my warrior/barbarian build. Once too close for sniping, the bow takes a backseat. If you want to be a ranger, sneak thief, or a mage build get Illia at Darklight Tower or Serana. Sofia is also probably who you need.

Open the console and click on her body or look it up on a Skyrim wiki to get her ID and then type resurrect 1 and tada. She lives.
