Sooraj just dropped the lyrics and the rest is history. The epic words took 20 minutes; he simply wrote them like any other day at the office. Now it's beyond international🔥

Yes we can be all proud saying he is a Kerala born Indian, but his rap influence is definitely from the west where he was raised. So we all need to calm down with claiming him to be Indian. His accent and flow has influence from Memphis Texas, and artists from there.

It’s common in Kerala that we offer “toddy” a liquor from palm tree, to our ancestors. There is a specific day for performing this.

Kudos to Quint for roping in a talented anchor. Great presentation. Btw he looks & sounds like a mix of Ankur Warikoo, Kunal Roy Kapur & Manav Kaul.

He was already popular with the rap scene in Kerala, Listen to Ayayyo, that made him pretty popular here, also his rap in Avesham.

It's partly because of expectations and rest is the video.. yes he's talented for sure.. but there are plenty of artists who are equally talented from around the world.. but him being an Indian with a really really good accent helped big time.. rather than the quality of the music itself..

Really blown by the depth of this analysis, looking forward to more from you, you should probably do a series on the hip-hop culture of India

No no no! These are double references we pour ashes too! It’s a crazy double meaning. All
Of it even references to the south. It’s so dense with meaning! Same thing is true about RRR it hits at multiple levels of abstraction! Don’t you get it? It’s multilevel multi meaning delivery!! Nothing else in universe achieves this only words and art. It’s like having two journeys with one body and mind.

NGL you nailed it Rap has to be authentic if an indian rapper starts rapping in english which is his second language it will show and i do think the production is also top tier
hanumankind is from america so it does not seem fake
Another reason is that hip hop is global at this point the umair album is at par in terms of quality with the albums from top selling hip hop artists
