Nickel Hunt and Album Fill #29 - Searching 100 Rolls of Nickels!
I've decided to start a new coin roll hunting series to see how many bank boxes it takes to fill an entire Dansco Album for Nickels dated 1938-1999. There are 138 slots to fill and although I already have an entire nickel coin collection, I did not keep track of the number of boxes it took to complete the set, which I completed through coin roll hunting nickels.
This is part 29 of the new series (boxes 42 and 43) and I do plan on updating it from each nickel box I hunt from this point forward until the nickel coin collection is completed! It may be a little tougher due to the sheer amount of uncirculated nickel boxes we keep getting but I will keep trying!

Nickel Hunt and Fill Video Playlist:

FYI - The Dansco Album does not have spots for some coins but we'll be hunting these boxes of nickels for Silver Nickels, Buffalo Nickels, Proof coins, Old Jefferson Nickels (namely semi-key and key date nickels), Liberty V Nickels and 2009's for their low mintage.
Let's keep our fingers crossed and our eyes open for some valuable Nickels!
Keep hunting and good luck!
They're still out there for us to find!

I've got to say that these nickel hunts have brought back memories of my younger years of being a part time cashier after school and scouring through the change every chance I got. Keep up the good work 👍

Nice 48S. Saving all nickels now. Just like copper pennies. Inherent value. Unlike paper.

The D on that 1940-D from box 2 looked like an RPM to me. I could see split serifs on both the top and bottom left of the D. Closest match I could find on Variety Vista was their 1940-D RPM-001, but your Nickel is rather worn so it was difficult to see if it was a close enough match.

Other than that, great hunt, Rob! I sure love Nickel boxes!

Just found my 1st 1950 nickel a few days ago. Saw an old back, and I didn't expect a 1950. Too bad it was a Philly. Great hunt!

Yeah, figuring out the year of the Thai coins is pretty difficult. They use different symbols for the digits, and my old eyes have difficulty figuring out which is which. Then, on top of that, their calendar began before ours, so they are in year 2550 or something close to that right now. So once you figure out what year they have on the coin, you have to subtract a couple of centuries to translate that into the year we would use.
