That was beautiful! And being a Mom, with my own country singing, guitar pickin son, who's now in Heaven....passing away at only 21...

So I can only imagine how special this was to your Mom!! Those are gifts, memories, you cannot buy in any store.
I miss hearing my boy sing to me .... Some of the most simple times, but sometimes those little simple times are the moments you miss the most. He loved to tease me by singing certain songs...like one by Mr. Trace Adkins, I'm sure you know-
his hit- "You're Gonna Miss This", bc he & my other son were born only 11 months & 18 days apart. They were mischievous, rowdy, silly boys, who sometimes drove me a lil crazy bc I'm an only child! They could be ALOT to handle! Then, they got older, got into music, and fortunately we were able to get them some pretty nice equipment, for one son that basically had a garage band- played bdays parties, just parties, dances & the such, while the other son was in a traveling Christian rock band... so of course our house was where it was at! Everyone wanted to hang out at our house! And I think every kid in our small town did, at one time or another! Everyone gathered to jam ...most times
I loved it... sometimes I'd silently beg for some peace & quiet... lol and not every teenage boy at my house, drinking all my sodas, eating all my snacks....lol
but I dealt with it...There was so much worse they could've been out doing, so I was a pretty proud Mama. My youngest tho, he knew somedays I'd wish they could jam at someone else's house! SO, he'd love teasing me by singing that Trace song... AND The Baby by Blake.
AND, he WAS the baby of the family... so he'd sing those to me, never failed to bring me to tears! He thought that was so cute..."Aww Mama, don't cry.. You're so cute when you cry, but you don't need to cry Mama... You're such a gush...haha"
He was my sweet caring little turd!
With that beautiful
shit-eating grin of his.... He definitely knew how to work his Mama!
So, just NEVER EVER could've imagined how right he was, about just how much I would miss those days.. and boy do I. I miss HIM. Everything about him. He was so special.... such a great, caring son, brother, grandson, friend, and then DADDY. He got to enjoy his last 8 months of his life on this earth, being a Daddy. Never could've seen the nightmare that was heading straight for us. Never, ever imagined living in a world without him. And, 9yrs later, it still hurts as much as it did the day we found out he was gone. I miss every single thing about him, every single day of my life, and imagine I will till my last breath. I try to remember at least we were blessed with 21yrs of having him in our lives. Just in May he would've been 30. Seems unreal. But he did leave us a precious gift, the best part of him to carry on... that 8 month old baby? Is now a VERY active, rambunctious, smart, funny, kind, and gorgeous 9 yr old who IS HIS DADDY'S TWIN! Unbelievable how much they look alike, and the ALL the things they have in common! Their likes & dislikes, mannerisms, attitudes, their silly, mischievous ways, and their sweet tender spirits. That lil guy probably saved our lives. He def gave us purpose and a reason to go on. I know none of this has a thing to do with you, I'm sorry I got carried away, but I just feel your Mom's pride when you sing to her like that ...a gift like that is SO special, NOTHING money can buy, nothing you can find in a store. Nope, that's from the heart, from your God-given talent, and for us Mamas, it just don't get any better than that!

Anyway Cooper, just love you & your family, keep singing to your Mama, she'll always love it!!
