Top 10 Greatest Rock Drum Beats of ALL TIME! (Countdown)

A quick video I made showing the rock drum beats I believe to be the top 10 greatest of all time!
Whilst everyone may not agree, bare in mind these are my opinions... A lot of the beats in this video are what not only influenced me, but also helped me improve as a drummer myself.

10) SPIRIT OF THE RADIO - An all round brilliant drum beat from the one and only Neil Peart! I don't think anyone can say anything bad about it...
9) DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO - This is one of my favourite beats of all time, the song is also one of my favourites.
8) IN THE AIR TONIGHT - No one can say they have never air-drummed to this song!
7) DON'T STOP BELIEVING - A brilliant, creative and very unique beat for one of the most loved songs of all time!
6) FINAL COUNTDOWN - Although it has been said to be the most annoying song of all time, NO ONE can say they don't love to hear the drum fill in this song!
5) FOR THE GREATER GOOD OF GOD - Nicko McBrain showing why he deserves to be one of the most influential drummers of all time
4) MORE THAN A MAN - Although the band is the biggest or most well known, it was this VERY DRUM BEAT that made me want to play drums. And if song / Drum beat has the ability to do that - then it is one bloody good beat in my eyes!
3) RUN TO THE HILLS - Possibly the band's most popular song, but this another one of those songs that when you hear it, you can't help but air drum along!
2) LAID TO REST - Another one of my all time favourites - I was so happy when I eventually learned to play this beat! I don't think there is a drummer on this Earth (or any other planet for that matter) that can come up with a drum beat as good as this! I don't even think Chris Adler himself knows how he wrote this! (See my Channel to see my drum cover of this song if you haven't already!)
1) WHERE EAGLES DARE - My FAVOURITE DRUM BEAT OF ALL TIME! There is no drummer who has the style of Nicko McBrain! My all time favourite drummer and a true inspiration to any drummer no matter what level!

ENJOY!!

So many great suggestions on here, makes me realise how many amazing drum beats I actually forgot about when making the video. Possibly slightly biased with the Iron Maiden tracks (Maiden is my favourite band, and Nicko McBrain is my absolute hero!)
In a certain sense, the video is probably more representative of a lot of bands / drummers that influenced my playing - there are very few people that would have even heard of STRYPER, but 'More Than a Man' was one of the very first songs I ever learned to play on drums, and that was mainly the reason for including it in the video.

'Greatest Drum Beats' may not have been the best title to give the video!! I might make another in the near future including all of the suggestions in the comments (and will try not to be biased and include too much Iron Maiden! haha)

Hope you all still enjoy the video anyways... please feel free to check out some of my drum covers! Thanks for watching! :)

I always liked Power Station "Some Like it Hot", but I really like most drum beats. The heartbeat of the band.

Hey BulletDrummer. Check out the drumming on a song called "Under the Ice" by The Nazz. One of the hardest hitting rock songs of the sixties. Amazing.

OK your opinions but not sure about quite a few of those. Don't Stop Believin, really? My top 10 would definitely include When The Levee Breaks, One, 6:00, YYZ and Lateralus.

I feel that your opinion is your opinion. For me to tell you what the best is would be vain at best. In art, there is no right or wrong. I feel that the vision of the artist is more important than the details, or in this case, the degree of difficulty and/or complication in the arrangement. We could strictly look at progressive song architectures of drummers, like Portnoy and Morgenstein, or deep beats of power trios like Rush's Peart, or King's X's Gaskill, but it doesn't rule out the artistic styling of all drummers, nor would it be fair to anyone who sits behind a kit to spell out what they feel are the interpretation of their soul's feelings. Art, by it's own nature, is open to the interpretation of the viewer/listener, as THEY perceive it. So in closing, for this individual to label these as what they feel are the best does not make them wrong. It also does make them right. It is right for them. It makes them an individual. And for anyone to troll them for their individuality... that is wrong. It also makes you narcissistic to think that your different opinion is better. Your different opinion is right, though. It is right for you, as an individual to enjoy something different than someone else. Shine on, people! We are all our own person, and in art, no one is wrong... except Rebecca Black...
