I’ve not long moved house. And since i’ve been here I keep waking up out my sleep this way. I’ll be in such a dream that makes me kick out so much that i actually do it. I end up waking up sort of remember the dream then i forget it. I just remember kicking with so much force and my heart beating so fast for ages!

Is it possible to have this REM disorder say in your 20s? I'm 22 yo male and I've had a couple instances where I'm yelling loudly as I wake up, or getting up out of bed as I'm throwing many punches into the air. I even had two instances where my brother was sleeping in my bed and I randomly just raised my body up and started punching him. All I can recall from the dreams are that some evil looking things were chasing me or looking to grab a hold of me. This past week, forgot which day, I just rose from my bed onto my feet and started punching.

I've always had this, I used to kick a lot in my sleep not so much anymore but I still talk, yell, scream, laugh, or even cuss. The most recent thing I've done was yell my boyfriends name really angrily. I'm female and 18, my family does have a history of having sleep disorders. My mom has sleep walking, she sleep eats and sometimes walks outside. My brother also has sleep walking, he also has sleep paralysis and narcolepsy. I have only slept walked once to my knowledge, but I didn't know I had sleep behavior disorder until recently.

when I sleep I say swear words and kick and talk. I got a dream of being chased and sometimes get dreams of doing violent things or getting frustrated or even trying to defend myself from someone. it started when I was 10

I have rsbd thankfully my dreams are benign and I usually just walk about talking loudly. Only time it was a problem, new house and I was jumping around in my sleep and fell down the stairs and broke a few ribs. Funniest moment as replayed to me by the hubs, I shot up shook him awake like it was emergency and told him " I need to buy shoes to match my hamburger " then promptly laid back down.

Well um there’s a lot of younger people on here saying they have this and I think I have it now in my 30’s 🤨

So you're basically telling me you miss all younger people afflicted by this? I have this since child, and I'm not even 30 and still have it
My dreams aren't violent when it happen, even nightmares in wich I die are not bad enough, and are somewhat enjoyable. When it happen, I dream about my family, wich traumatized me thoughout my life, and act in a way to traumatize me even more, pushing on emotional injuries they know better than anyone and push me to madness. Threats of engulfing madness trigger it.
Everytime it happen, it come out of the need to get as much strength as possible from my body to ensure survival, weither it is to run, fight, or scream

Anyone have advice for me? Should I be concerned?

I’m a 14 year old female who gets this.
I always go to bed late but when I sleep early I get REM really bad. I ran outside once, token stuff from around the house, saw a person who wasn’t there who “tried to kill me”, when I’m sick I stay in bed and talk to celebrities who aren’t actually there(Ik.. weird lol).

These are all different examples of them. I get them at least once to twice a month.

Sometimes I notice I’m in REM and just freak out and run around the house. It’s honestly terrifying sometimes and I want to talk to a doctor about it soon...

More times I just see stuff thats not there. Lately I just walk around my house, use the bathroom, sit in bed and freak out for a little, then pass out in bed.
