How Vitor Pereira’s Tactics Have REVIVED Wolves…

After Wolves completed their first league double over Man Utd since the 1980’s, Vitor Pereira’s side finalised their Premier League status ahead of next season. & that’s all thanks to this man. 11 wins, 2 draws & 7 losses since the 56 year old arrived. He’s certainly transformed the feeling around the club both on & off the pitch.

I looked into Pereira’s impact in the West Midlands. I look at statistically the form Wolves find themselves in, how they set up, the tactics, how they defend, attack & more.

I still think we are playing with a style which was implemented when Ruben Neves and Nuno came into the club. Long pinpoint accuracy diagonal balls into a aggressive counter attacking style. It's great to see us thrive under VP after the last 6 months of GON and as shown in the last 4 games with Cunha banned, we can hold out own without our star talisman man. Looking forward to what VP will do in the summer and where we will end up next season, because if we keep this form we can be pushing for Europe again next season.

You should also see the stats before and after Agbadou signed for us. We were shipping an average of 2.5 goals per game before he came in, utterly diabolical numbers. Now its less than half of that. I've not seen a back line this sturdy since we had Connor Coady and Willy Boly as our centre backs.

I think Pereira added structure as you detail and much needed physique in Agbadou and Munetsi. But the other thing he has brought is communication. He is able to speak to almost all of a very cosmopolitan squad, as well as the owners, in their first language. That is key to getting his point across and having worked in Portugal, France and Shanghai amongst others, that long list of clubs and over 600 games has set him up beautifully for the role. But it is his ability to communicate to the fans that has galvanised the club- first the points, then the pints- he has connected in a way I have never seen from a manager. Brilliant work!

If you look at Wolves, yes they have been struggling but they have some incredible player's in their squad, a team full of Internationals like Jose Sa, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Emmanuel Agbadou, Nelsen Samedo, Nasser Djiga, Toti Gomes, Pedro Lima, Marshall Munetsi, Andre, Joao Gomes (They have Brazil's Midfield) Rodrigo Gomes, Jean-Richner Bellegarde, Goncalo Guedes, Strand Larsen, Hwang Hee Chan and Matheus Cunha etc.
The main reason why Wolves were so woeful was because they appointed a terrible manager in Gary O'Neil. Sorry, Gary O'Neil is a lovely bloke but totally clueless and downright hapless and hopeless when it comes to coaching a team of talented Internationals like Wolves first team. Mercifully he has now left and the reins have been handed over to an experienced coach with Champions League experience like Vitor Pereira. The summer will be a very crucial period for Wolves, a lot of big first team players will be free agents and will inevitably leave. It's also certain that their star player Matheus Cunha will also depart. I think Wolves MultiBillionaire Owners Fosun International will have been terrified at the potential thought of relegation and will back Vitor Peirera heavily in the transfer market.
If that happens, then there is no reason why Wolves can't get into Europe again and permanently stay away from the drop zone.

You can also find a lot of Football Managers working from home for TV Channels and earning good money. But in the pitch, the competence is Queen. With the same level of Vitor Pereira, we have dozens of managers in Portugal, and even so, VP only got his place in the Premier League because Wolves were in a desperate zone with 5 points below the relegation line, and nobody wanted this job. The English are good at getting the rewards of others' work. The Premier League is the best global league because it has the best managers and the money from the Arab world and expensive tickets and shirts paid for by English fans.
