Earth, Wind & Fire ~ Let's Groove 1981 Disco Purrfection Version

Earth, Wind & Fire followed up their 1979 opus "I Am" with the hits "Boogie Wonderland" and "After The Love Has Gone" with a decidedly non commercial LP in 1980 called "Faces". There were no notable hits and it left fans confused, so it tanked. Maurice made some personnel changes and went into the studio. The first song released was "Let's Groove" and the vocoderized intro told everyone that EWF was back in a big, new improved way. So successful was this new sound that "Let's Groove" spent eight weeks at #1 on the R&B charts, and peaked at #3 on the Hot 100.

I have to say this extended version is sensational. I certainly remember the debut release of the original song, and the significant impact it had on Disco. The song was released in 1981, on the L.P. Raise. The album and the original song "Let's Groove" produced tremendous sales. The single flooded radio stations in the Chicago markets, and elsewhere. "Let's Groove" certainly would draw you to the dance floor. The brilliance of Maurice White, and Earth, Wind, & Fire.
