The very fact that the opening "galaxy far far away" said that is the answer. It's saying far far away, well then far far away from what? The answer is far far away from the audience, which is us

Became a tourist attraction because by now everyone in the star wars galaxy wants a look at a planet with more than one environment

Yes, and E.T. went there (and E.T, or someone of the same species, was in Star Wars)

Let’s not forget that R2-D2 and C-3PO got lost and ended up on Sesame Street.

If it didn’t, how else would we have gotten that Star Wars and muppets crossover???

Per the opening to Star Wars, it’s a real place in another galaxy. The THX 1138 reference is funny.

There’s that battlefront Easter egg that shows a map of geonosis with a layout matching the US’s 5 Great Lakes. Maybe earth is geonosis

Well no there’s a comic that shows Han and Chewbacca making a blind jump and they ended up crash landing somewhere in North America sometime before it was colonized and Han ended up dying from a native american arrow when Chewbacca was mistaken as Bigfoot.

Actually in one of the comics chewbaka and han land on earth and some native American attack them thinking that they're British. Han dies and 200 years later Indiana Jones comes and finds Solo. Harrison Ford found dead Harrison Ford 💀

Eh, the Star Tours feels too hackneyed.

Earth, however, is implied to be in another dimension, as shown in that Tales comic featuring Indiana Jones (it's surprisingly sad, though) and even the Supernatural Encounters novella. In short, "a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away" is true, from a certain point of view.

I think that one was because of a video game, but there is another version of Earth in a Star Wars Comic, it's in Fath Sector, in the outer rim right were our Earth would be

Earth being a tourist planet makes sense, Since it'd be one of the few Star wars planets with different biomes

Question, how did they determine days, nights, time and years if they're not on one planet?
