Its awful to think this morning they were just going to school like normal and little did they know tonight they'd be gone forever on the breaking news channel.

Ah yes, the boy's father purchased the gun. Now I understand why the shooter and his family have refused to speak to police and immediately retained a lawyer.

My grandkids' high school had several bomb threats, shooting threats and pulled fire alarms last Oct and this shooting really reminds me that school can be dangerous. So heart wrenching.

parents and students that had to go through
this. Thoughts and prayers go out to every
single student, teacher, parents, principals, and

So, dad buys a firearm, son takes it without father's knowledge, uses it at school. The question that should be asked is, why did he do it. Everything else is superfluous. Did he hit a breaking point on being bullied? Was he a psychopath? Did he have a broken heart? Did he just want to be noticed?

I don't want to sound callous but what does prayers actually do? We say that all the time but it literally doesn't do anything. It doesn't make the family feel any less loss of their love ones. Most people say it because it is an excuse to do nothing.

I graduated from Oxford two years ago, during my senior year we had many bomb threats and school shooter threats. Nobody did anything about anything. Every day that I went to school there I always felt that it was going to happen any day now.

From my County Court house through the State houses, through Congressional House and Senate through thousands of federal buildings, our three letter agencies all the way to the White house. They all get protection from metal detectors and trained personnel.

As a student who goes to Brighton High, a little bit away from Oxford, its terrifying. In my english class a kid knocked on the door to give our teacher some papers, and my friend said, “dude, After what happened at oxford, my heart stopped for a minute”
We are scared. And this fear wont end till we take this seriously and take action to stop it.

This practically happened in my back yard. It scares me that we now have to accept such a thing in today's world. My condolences go out to those who lost their lives as well as the family's effected.
