Isle of Arran, Scotland in miniature ~ Part 4 of 5

Показать описание
In my fourth video tour around the Isle of Arran you'll walk along a golden sandy beach at Blackwaterfoot where you'll reach Drumadoon Point. In times past, an Iron Age Fort was on top of Drumadoon, a strategic position for a Fort and the views aren’t bad either!
Next stop is the King's Cave where Robert the Bruce may have hidden from his enemies. Stories told are that he watched a spider spinning a web which kept failing, but it never gave up. This inspired him to keep trying too, and now there's a well known saying "If at first you don't suceed, try, try again".
Lagg is next, a lovely wee village in Kilmory with an authentic coaching inn, the 1791 Lagg Hotel. I loved my stay here in 2019. The location and food was brilliant with a cosy lounge to relax in watching the flames of the log fire.
Time for a walk through the woodlands you go to Torrylin Cairn, an old chambered tomb on the coastline, then a little bit further to the beach at Lagg. We were there in 2017 when we walked the Arran Coastal Way. The tide was so far out I was in awe of the long sandy beach and wished we could stay longer.
Onwards we go along the Jurassic feel coastline to Kildonan. You’ll pass the Black Cave on low tide and might be lucky to spot a few basking seals!
Whiting Bay is next with a chambered tomb on a hill known as the Giants’ Graves. It’s peaceful but you might feel a bit of chill as you read the information board on what they were used for...
Finally, I stop at the mighty Glenashdale Falls. When you walk along the platform and look down at the power of water it’s pretty impressive!
I hope you enjoy this video too 😊
