Who is the GOAT?
This includes only official goals.

Getting the goals records in South America's League is really difficult but, fortunately, I could find records of Pele, Maradona and Romario and etc.

But, some of data is missing.

Remember, Maradona was a midfielder, not a striker.
Also, you should have included Gerd Müller: 721 official goals.

Oh boy, Neymar is 27 hahaha. I remember his early career when he was underage in Santos. I feel so old

Try to choose the best player in the history only by goals is a big mistake, football isn't numbers.

Gerd Müller scored 726 goals in 764 matches, thats a 0.95 ratio (better than all current players), has several domestic and international records, scored 85 goals in 60 games in 1972 (1.42 goals/game, record broken by messi in 2012 1.32 goals/game), scored 10 goals at the wc 1970, 7 times top scorer in bundesliga (during a time when buli was the best league in the world). This list could go on and on. I think he deserves a spot on this list doesnt he?😁

This just shows what a beast R9 was. At ages 18-21, he was head and shoulders above anyone in that age group ever. If it wasn’t for those injuries, he would’ve been even more special.
(I know Pele has more goals but he was scoring most of them in Brazilian regional championships while R9 was scoring them in Serie A and La Liga)

The reason why Messi and Ronaldo made such an insane career is because they had the serious luck to never be injured for more than 6 months, that is the career destroyer for most players. R9 came back every time and still managed to destroy everyone but the problem is because of his injuries it was never allowed for him.to develope his immense potential for the risk to get another injury. R9 without injuries would have been the best player of all time hands down.

He had the speed of aubameyang, the strength of Ibrahimovic and the control of Messi while shooting as powerful as CR7 with insane precision. All at the age 20 and now imagine he could have been even better...

Fenómeno is the GOAT. Played most of his career on one knee.

When we talk about individuality, there is no one as good as messi. Collectively I admit there ain't anyone like CR7. He has won every league he has played in. But what messi can do with the ball is something CR7 can't even dream of.

Look at how cr7 had to catch up.. after being a winger and playin for sporting. Messi surely was in a better place. CR7 🐐

Great video!
It's insane that Romario played until the age of 44 and still scored tons of goals. His game/goal ratio is absolutely sick. Had he played in the 98 world cup final, brazil would have very likely been victorious there as well.
But i am missing players like Ibrahimovic, Eusebio, Puskás and Cryuff in this list.

Fun fact: Pelé has won the same number of world cups of all the other players of this list combined

Damn Romario really made a late push for most goals ever, he aged like fine wine 😍😍

Pele is the greatest player of all time, that will never changed, I mean come on, He got his team to win the world cup at 17, and he is just soooo Ronaldo and Messi are 2 AMAZING PLAYERS, but pele is above everyone

Interesting how, @ 26 years and 11 months, Pélé already had 553 goals while Romário was @ the bottom of the list with "only" 216.
Yet, exactly ten years later when Pélé retired, Pélé had only scored another 210 (214??) official goals but, during those ten years, Romário scored 437 official goals: more than double of Pélé.
My point? Just because a goal scorer starts to score a lot very early and amasses a huge amount of goals very quickly doesn't mean others that start scoring "more modestly" @ 1st don't end up outscoring them throughout their careers.
You could compare Pélé to Messi (until the end of 18/19 season, @ least) in the sense that they scored a lot of goals very quickly from an early age. Pélé score faster and from a younger age but Messi has been more "regular" so he's closing in on Pélé and will probably pass him while being younger than when Pélé retired.
@ the same time, you could compare Romário to CR7 in the sense that they started to REALLY score later in their careers: in the case of Romário, @ about 27 years old or so while, in the case of CR7, @ around 24 years and six months or so (since season 09/10).
One could argue CR7 started really scoring while still @ MU but even in his 07/08 season when he scored those 42 goals for MU, he still didn't reach 0.9 goal ratio and in his last season @ MU his goal ratio didn't even reach 0.5, while @ RM, even his worst season in terms of goal ratio (16/17) ended with higher than 0.9 goal ratio and six of his seasons @ RM ended with 1.0 goal ratio or higher.

Interestingly, from 24 years and 2 months up until 34 years and 2 months, CR7 scored 545 official goals. From 21 years and 9 months until 31 years and 9 months, Messi scored even more: 572 official goals.
Out of shear coincidence, CR7's goal tally in those ten years is the exact same as Pélé's from 16 years and 6 months (when he scored his 1st official goal) until 26 years and 6 months.
