The Jewish council wanted the Apostles to stop preaching about Jesus. The Apostles said that they need to obey God over men in this case, for God commanded that they preach Jesus. Sending the apostles away for a moment to confer, the council is advised by one of their own: Gamaliel as to the correct course of action. What was his advice. Rabban Gamaliel said that if the Netzarim or Nazarene sect of Judaism came to naught then it was not from the Lord. The Netzarim officially ended in 135 ce and disappeared from history in 333 ce. This seems to prove that Jesus was a false leader like the others mentioned in the passage.
