KINGDOM HEARTS 3 Re Mind - Data Saix Battle: The Cheese Method

For those struggling to beat him...Saix is way easier when You know when to block him (as all bosses I know ^^') and You must be calm when fighting him (You don't want to panic and roll like a madman)...if You often take damage from him and often use Curaga equip something with DAMAGE SYPHON ability (it helps You recover MP by taking damage). Quicker MP replenish will help cast it more often for invincibility frames. Also equip Counter slash ability for this fight and have Blizzaga spell with You.
*When fight starts stand still and wait for him to wave his weapon once. Then block and You will have to press Circle for a reversal and You can combo him.
If You keep comboing him he will try to counter (it is the same animation like with Berserker nobody counter). Block, counter slash, block, counter slash and block as he can do a last slow swing.
*When he hits the ground to send flame waves notice that to evade them You can roll ONCE into them and flames won't hit You (You don't need to spam dodge roll). After third slam he will be vulnerable and You can combo him.
*When he jumps into the air to send flame circle, jump and air slide to him (You will evade it) and You can combo him. Then he wil go berserk.
As it goes for his Desperation moves:
*Firstly he will throw his weapons to the ground. Wait for it then dodge roll once as he slams from above. Then block/dodge roll as he tries to hit You and block/dodge roll again as he does a rising hit.
Then stand still as he slams the ground with flame waves once (the first wave won't hit You if You stand still) and push block when he tries to slam second time. You will block it and the circle prompt will appear. If You push it Sora will slide under Saix and You can combo him.
*When he goes with the four flame lunges, wait for him to appear and dodge roll to his side to dodge the flame waves.
*When he jumps and sends five flame cirlce if You are fast enough You can dodge them and combo him.
*If he does a second weapon throw to the ground, dodge roll and block his rising strike (You don't want to be hit into the air). Then he will do a third weapons throw after which You dodge roll and combo him the last time.
Then fight looks similiar as in the beginning. When he goes berserk second time the only difference is he can start running on the ground and keep pummeling it. You can jump and glide but be wary of flame circles (if it hits You Sora will be stunned). You can equip keyblade with stun protection to prevent that from happening or be in a formchange.

Saix probably has the most difficult openings to recognize but he actually has a lot of them. Knowing when they are is the key to beating him. I dreaded this boss until I realized how often you can smack him out of of a combo right before he finishes

If you use this method, be sure to equip as many fire boosts as possible, be in a formchange before using the Link, and use the highest Magic stat keyblades for maximum damage

I just beat him now using Simba. I don't even feel bad because he hardly gives you any openings lol

This definitely makes the fight easier but this is far from “cheesing it”. You still have to find an opening to summon and avoid death while your MP bar isn’t charged.

I wonder, if you disable cure with the pro codes on, does using a link still give you back HP? I am so stuck on Saix using the pro codes, so considering enabling links again, but need to know if it'll heal me xD
