How will the teams line up? What can we expect from these teams? Have their squads changed considerably since their former wins?

... this is about the group of death which is so named because losing team has to be violently murdered in separate televised event. Very sad )

Couple of things about Portugal:
- Pepe will most likely be on the 11. While both him and a fonte had great seasons collectively and individually, Pepe is the soul of the national team, alongside Ronaldo. He was arguably our best player in euro 2016, and is always solid when he plays.
- a couple of options you didn't mention that can also play and start games: Gonçalo Guedes from Valência, Nuno Mendes *and Palhinha* from Sporting, *Renato Sanches from Lille*, and Rúben Neves from Wolves.
- I also don't think that midfield trio will start every game, far from that, and Fernando Santos might choose their starters by performance.
- Additional note that, while Fernandes is obviously an amazing player, he's been a bit lackluster for the national team. Also, Diogo Jota might start instead of Félix

If Deschamps has brought in Benzema is to play him. No way he has brought him to leave him in the bench and ruin the team spirit

"What is Thomas Muller...?"

Me (after watching too much of The Champions lately): he's the Raumdeuter! There's no word for it in English... It means space interpreter, it's very cool actually 😎😂

I think that Germany plays with an asymmetrical 4-2-3-1, with gosens on the left back occupying the entire band since he usually plays as a lane, and with sule or klostermann on the right back being actually a third centerback, with Rudiger on the left and hummels in the middle. Kimmich and one between Kroos, gundogan and goretzka would go in the double pivot, and Muller would play in the position as a 10. On the left he would put Gnabry for being a player who likes to play on the inside, letting gosens occupy the band and above all to accompany the striker, and on the right to heal glued to the band. Finally I would put one forward between Havertz and Werner, to coordinate movements with Gnabry and Muller.

Another option could be to put Kimmich on the right wing as a lane and in the double pivot to put Goretzka and Gundogan or Kroos.

Absolutely love this new channel and love Tifo in general. So refreshing to hear knowledgeable, intelligible football fans talk football discourse instead of the majority of punditry you get on TV. JJ is a great addition to an already personable team :)

The separate event where the last team is violently murdered first appeared on the Athletic.

The group of death was so deadly that nobody survived it.

The "group of death" concept kinda loses all meaning when 3 teams are likely to go through.

Before it was fun because it would mean one of France, Germany and Portugal won't go through. Last time around Portugal ended third in their group and went on to win.

this is interesting, harvetz confidence has gone up a notch after scoring the winning goal in the champions league final, kante is a brilliant midfielder possibly one of the best in the world, france vs germany could be a very interesting game

"Could be Fonte over Pepe". I love you tifo, but there is no way Pepe doesnt start every game on the 11.
