If the President has committed an act of treason (or some other seriously illegal act that puts the nation at risk) the Congressional Intelligence and Senate Intelligence Committees have a right to that whistle-blower's information. In fact, they have a duty to demand it and the Supreme Court has a obligation to back up that demand.
