Record number of climbers attempt to reach summit of Mount Everest

A record number of climbers from across the globe were issued permits in an attempt to take the dangerous trek to reach the summit of Mount Everest. NBC News’ Janis Mackey Frayer spoke with two climbers who were able to reach the peak.

So Mark Inglis was actually the first double amputee to summit everest. This fellow was the first above the knee amputee to summit. Just wanted to clarify as Inglis does deserve that title.

It's sad. Climbing Everest used to be considered something that only the most skilled people could attempt, now it's just a matter of having enough money to buy your way up. Skill stopped mattering.
