There is a lot of hype going on regarding eggs, particularly about the cholesterol that's in the yolk. To this date there is no consistent data that shows any relationship between dietary cholesterol and blood cholesterol.

HERE'S WHY YOUR BODY MUST HAVE CHOLESTEROL...

Cholesterol plays a role in forming and maintaining cell membranes and structures.
Cholesterol can insert between fat molecules making up the cell, making the membrane more fluid. Cells also need cholesterol to help them adjust to changes in temperature.
Cholesterol is essential for making a number of critical hormones, including the stress hormone cortisol. Cholesterol is also used to make the sex hormones testosterone, progesterone, and estrogen.
The liver also uses cholesterol to make bile, a fluid that plays a vital role in the processing and digestion of fats.
Cholesterol is used by nerve cells for insulation.
Your body also needs cholesterol to make vitamin D.
In the presence of sunlight, cholesterol is converted into vitamin D.

I know now that we have been lied to and foods that are healthy have been labeled as dangerous to our health. Foods like meat, eggs, butter are good, of course in moderation. Processed foods are the worst. I have never seen so many overweight people as I do now and I am 71.

I just had this conversation with a patient this week. She still thought eggs were bad because of cholesterol! 😲 Hopefully I got through to her. I told her your liver makes about 85% of your blood cholesterol. In other words, 85% of your blood cholesterol does NOT come directly from dietary cholesterol. So, if you're REALLY concerned with cholesterol, you need to ask why your liver is producing extra for you... and insulin is almost always the culprit!

2 hard boiled eggs every morning with 3/4 c of cottage cheese with fresh blueberries on top. Cup of black coffee. Keeps me full until early dinner, usually salmon or chicken and a huge veggie salad. Apple slices for tv night snack. Water all day. Labs are great, close to 60 lbs lost effortlessly, skin and hair beautiful. At 61 I look back at pictures and honestly look better than I did in my 30’s. Just pay attention to how you feel, listen to Dr’s who make sense (and don’t push pharmaceuticals) and use common sense. 😊

Grateful for this valuable information on eggs. They are a great source of protein, not to mention all of the other good things that eggs do for our body. I eat eggs two to three times a week. My cholesterol is 166. I always say to eat in moderation. I eat healthy organic foods, lost 14 pounds and feel healthier. Thank you Dr. Mandel. God Bless you. ❤😊

Yes sir, yes sir & yes sir!!! Dr. Mandel, you are spot on 100% correct. I have been, with one minor and one major “hiccup”, ketovore/carnivore for over 7 months. Result: last extensive lab work was 100% normal and I’ve lost 70+ pounds. Still have a ways to go to get to my target weight, but I’m getting there. My normal breakfast is six large eggs with either bacon or self seasoned pork sausage cooked in either olive oil, bacon grease, or butter. This I only eat when I wake up hungry which is usually once or twice a week. The rest of the time, I eat one meal a day. Doc, YOU ROCK!!! Until your next video and beyond, happy trails, best wishes, take care, be safe and God bless you and your family!!! Chuck Knight from Atascocita, Texas. ✝️👨‍🌾🙏

I eat boiled eggs while watching movies or reading. I boil 8 at a time. Sundays, I love my 2 pouched eggs & grilled tomatoes on a thick bed of lettuce( went cold turkey on bread, pasta, rice 6 maths ago) I could eat 3 eggs every day. I ❤ them. 🇦🇺🌏fan.

I never knew until recently that carbs are connected to cholesterol. Normally people only talk about dairy and meat as the culprit. Thank you for all you do for all of us.

Agreed, Dr, Mandell. It's not so much what we eat; it's what's in our minds. All dis-ease are caused by Energy imbalances caused by negative emotions.

Eggs rule..3 a day, best source of protein save for mother's milk. Despite a genetic disposition to high cholesterol, my HDLs are off the charts! 😊 Make sure to cook your eggs, not on high heat, but just to firm the white a bit so as to get all that choline into you! My pup loves them a couple times a week also. I hope you agree with this, Dr Mandel. Love your videos...💙🙏🌿

Thank You Dr.Mandell,
I grew up in Italy, my grandmother every afternoon would give me a fresh egg
Raw with a drop of lemon, she would say eggs will make you strong!
Naturally from the chickens that she had.
However, as we left our country and came to America, life style changed including not eating eggs anymore!
I thank You for reinforcing the benefits of eggs, definitely would add more eggs in my diet.
Also, you have bought back memories!

Grazie Thank You
Arrivederci!

Good job, Doc. At the end you justifiably spoke of inflammation being the problem, not cholesterol (from eggs), and that we should address inflammation! This view is more than a century old. No, I wasn't around then, but close. I just viewed a terrific YouTube video of UK Dr. John Campbell interviewing Dr David Grimes, vitamin D expert. It turns out that a substantial vitamin D target will knock down inflammation!
