I loved him the most when he was open about his age and said, "I'm just glad to be here... Period." That's when I felt I connected with him the most, not when he was trying to sing current songs. Although his rendition of "Only Love Can Hurt This Much" was heartfelt and amazing. I think if he'd embraced his age throughout the journey instead of fighting it, I would have loved and connected with him more. I'm so glad he chose Delta, and their moments during his speech at the end were sooo moving. She truly fought for him and loves him.

At 74, it's only natural that he will have problems remembering new lyrics...He should have just been given songs he was comfortable with and to be frank, he had memory issues with those too. He was really good and a fresh addition to the show. What a spirit!
PS : Maybe the lyrics could have been put up in front of him.
