Fun fact, serfs: 30 years ago, Aleksandr Vladimirovich was instrumental in organizing Vologda’s Museum of Diplomatic Corps at 35 Herzen Street, now known as the Puzyrevsky-Puzan House. I wonder if Sasha’s fascinating displays dedicated to the use of the building in 1918 by nearly a dozen foreign embassies led by the U.S. are still there. Given Russia’s hysterical rewriting of history lately, I’m guessing they’re gone.
