This is what I think about the topic. My answer is: not necessarily. In politics we have ideologies that sometimes make people do the same things that a religious fundamentalist would do. People are dogmatic even not following any religion, but defending a political party or ideology. Dogma is really the problem, religion is just one of the many expressions of it.

no one is saying that without religion the world would be happy place without immoral people, corruption, extremism and just overall bad shit.
BUT it would be 1 huge pain in the ass less, to worry about
