look back in 2009 the highest phone i remember was a slide keyboard phone $150 four years later you got phones doing this at the price of $800

If you think about it, this is the opposite of laziness. What is lazy is to buy stuff that each require a different proprietary interface to work properly.

What is efficient, and therefore less "lazy" in a raw material sense, is to be able to use one thing to control all these other things.

I have a smart phone and it has a lot of valuable functions (GPS, Internet, Email, etc.) but some of this is insane and just pure laziness.
