Retreat Room Euterpe - La Muse Artists & Writers Retreat

Euterpe is a lovely double room with a decorative marble fireplace and an en-suite shower and wash hand basin. The room has two large French windows facing the mountains, wood floors, and art on the walls donated by many of the artists who’ve been to La Muse over the years.

Her name means “rejoicing” or “delight". Share with us your experience if you've already had the delight of meeting Euterpe!

Euterpe is by far my favorite room at La Muse. I'm not exactly sure why because all of the rooms are incredibly beautiful, but there is an energy in this one that really boosts my creativity. The wood floors with the cream walls give the space a really clean and cozy feel. Writing while looking out at the magnificent valley was so inspiring as well. 10/10

It's not an exaggeration to say that Euterpe has changed my life. I am not a mystical person, and yet it does seem meaningful that during a stay in August of 2009 in Euterpe (the muse of music), I made a decision to become a music therapist. During my most recent stay I composed music at the desk while staring out at la montagne Noire. When I go back I'll want to stay in Euterpe again.
