The present Nigerian team has been a work in progress for about 4 years now.

It is a young and talented team that can possibly outshine the Golden Generation of '94 and the squad (of *'96 to 2002* ) that played against Cameroun in the final in 2000.

Keshi's team of 2013 was not as good as this team. Neither were they better than the team that played the 2000 AFCON final.

But through sheer grit and determination, especially in the knockout phase, they surmounted all odds and won the trophy.
