But I would not use a 13 x 9 dish if I made it again, use a smaller dish

Future note: Place the peaches in the boiling water for one minute, then quickly remove and place them in the ice bath. Once cooled, the peel will easily slide off. Peaches are ready to be used!

So glad you enjoyed the peach cobbler! ☺️
Next time you make it, ripen the peaches in a brown paper bag til they are nice and sweet and soft. The best peach cobbler has peaches that are so tender they just melt in your mouth. ☺️

We were poor growing up. My aunt gave my mom 10 cases of peaches and 50 lbs of Bisquick one year for Christmas. It was great until February. By June I cried every time I saw a cobbler (and my mom made amazing cobbler) it took 45 years before I could eat cobbler again.

I am a Georgia native and there are many ways to make a cobbler. I can attest this IS the correct and only way to do it! So simple and easy you can't mess it up it's just a cup of everything! This is exactly how my mammaw made it and how I make it! Minus the lemon and cinnamon and we use self rising also just use some canned peaches and make life easier for you 😅 cup of flour, sugar, milk and stick of butter add peaches done. Try with blueberries or blackberries! pour a little whole milk over it too soooo good of course ice cream works too 😊

Looked delicious. Your recipe is the same as I use. Don’t forget you can use whatever fruit is in season in place of the peaches. Blackberry and Blueberry are my favorites but Apple, Peach and Cherry are good also. Looked like Baby H approved ❤. God Bless you all.

To peel peaches scald them in boiling water for a minute or so. The skin will come right off.
Also: i prefer peach cobbler with pie crust instead of batter. They are both good though. And a pinch of nutmeg as well as cinnamon.
P.s. you could try canned or tinned peaches in heavy syrup if you can't get good ripe fresh peaches.

When using a glass baking dish, it's best to lower the temperature by 25 degrees F.

My Mom and I always use canned peaches not drained. Not need to precook the peaches, just pour the can over the batter. The juice/syrup in the can adds so much flavor.

Love peach cobbler!! And yes, you can totally make this with canned peaches. The flavor is only slightly different but saves a huge amount of time if you’re in a pinch or peaches aren’t in season. And ANY time of yes is great for peach cobbler by the way.
I love how Mr. H verbalized he could see himself just going back for a bit more…and a bit more…
I’m the same way!!

I think you did a great job. The only suggestions I would add is shift your rack in the over to the middle of the oven, and if you can get them, this is MUCH easier if you use free stone peaches.

You can use most fruit in a cobbler, my grandmother had a blackberry farm. It’s also good with cream, or most decadently clotted cream.

Georgia woman here, and now your peach cobbler has me almost crying! My peach tree was covered in fruit this year for the first time ever, and my mouth was watering up every time I looked at it!! Unfortunately, we had 2 big storms in 2 days here (we lost huge branches off the tree - and lost almost half the tree) and every.single.peach was blown off, crushed or totally ruined. Wahhh!! ToT It looks like your cobbler turned out perfectly, and I'm glad that y'all and Baby H enjoyed it!

Buttermilk Pie is the authentic southern dessert for custard lovers. The first pie we learn to make in my family, it is extremely simple and can be jazzed up with different flavorings (vanilla, lemon, etc). It is delicious warm or cold and pairs well with fruit. Most recipes make two pies....one for you guys and one for grandpa. Enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing. Thumbs up!

Peach, Cherry, Apple and Blackberry are my favorites! 😂 You say you are not a cook, but you are!! Go watch your first 3 cooking videos and then watch the last 3 videos. Trust me you are SO much more confident about trying these recipes! I can tell you are starting to think of ways to tweak the recipes. Some recipes you tweak and make them your own. Some recipes are already perfection. I love watching you learn!!
Great video! ❤❤

Born and raised about 35 miles south of Athens, Georgia. I grew up picking my own fresh peaches from our garden.
