I swapped from the HD M8 engined bikes to the Revolution Max engine in a Sportster S. The positive things to say to traditional Harley lovers is that HD sells a range of bikes to suit all tastes. There is no agenda to only sell Rev Max bikes, anymore that there is to make the whole range electric, so everyone should relax. And the second point to make is that the Rev Max range of Harleys has attracted a lot of new riders into the brand judging by the comments on the owners groups on social media. That can only be a good thing for the manufacturer going forward.

I'm an evolution fan all the way..but unfortunately last few years of Harleys attempt is comparable to someone in Vegas betting and never winning.. .and now down to them last

I would love to see a new revelation Max 1400 CC or even 1800 CC model put into a Street glide and an Ultra limited. I think I would break the bank for that one as long as it had over 120 lb of torque at the rear wheel in stock form what do you think?

Personally, I love the RevoMax engine platform. Still have my 03 vrod, which it was derived from. However. It doesn't matter how good any product is. If you can't afford it. The same ole same ole with HD. The only thing that will bring new riders to HD. Is affordable, reliable motorcycles. The two things that they have struggled with the most.

If Harley Davidson wants to get into the performance arena then yes the new motor will save their butts. The current air-cooled M8 and older twin cam bike are overly labor-intensive bikes to own, people are tired of expensive labor costs.

Liquid-cooled engines are undoubtedly the way of the (near) future. As emissions standards become more restrictive, the air-cooled engines become more scarce.
There will probably be a day when the emissions from air-cooled engines will no longer meet any emission standard, and we’ll all have to stop riding one.
But… for now at least… the air-cooled engines still satisfy where the liquid-cooled can’t compare.
Harley will have to.. in the very near future.. develop an honest cruiser/tourer type bike with a liquid-cooled engine that can (?)
satisfy both the emission standards of the future, and a most demanding Harley rider.
Also.. I might add.. Harley MUST keep the price competitive.. regardless of engine.
👍👍

For me it's Evo or nothing. I would love to have a new road glide with a high hp carbonated evo.

New riders (all 4 of them) who are falling in to global warming agenda will love this engine not even knowing that they're giving up freedom. Real Harley riders will NEVER accept liquid cooled engine on HD. That's the most positive comment I can give you. 😏
After you buy new bike this days there's no more money left for anything let alone customization. 💵😅

I don't think Harley has any problems. Harley will always produce the road bikes.

All of the things that is said about this motorcycle is true, until it all stops working. Then it's a game of dealership blaming Milwaukee. According to forums this is happening like mine around 4000 miles. There's a storm coming for Harley Davidson for selling junk motors and electronics like this.

Yes, the Revolution Max engine (and associated tech) will put position Harley-Davidson as a competitively strong motorcycle company for many years into the future; I'm not sure if 'saved' is the right word. Certainly, the new platform will make the company stronger, more competitive, and more attractive to the younger crowd coming up !

The engine appeals to me. The bikes they have put it in so far do not. They need to follow Triumph's lead and make old school looking bikes with the new engine.

Harley Riders will accept it because they already have water cooled heads on them and electric fans

Will a new, modern, proper engine save Harley-Davidson?

I think we've seen this before, haven't we? Let's face it, come out with something genuinely new, and fundamentally better, and Harley-Davidson riders will stay away from it by the thousands.

The real question is whether anything can save Harley-Davidson from its customer base, an increasingly geriatric and stubborn demographic.

Answer: NO. Solution: scrap the twin scam and the M8 and resume building the EVO. Cmon engineers, you can make an EVO conform to euro specs as it leaves the dealerships. Then the rider can depolutionize it and have what a HD is supposed to be. If Willie was still alive, he would fire all of you loafer wearers.
