Junkbot is the Animal Crossing of Glubo.

You get to play as a customisable robot known as Junkbot. At the start, you’re all alone except for your walkie-talkie, who tells you the basics of the game. You get to explore an abandoned city, which you later get to name, scavenging materials and cleaning up the city to be inhabitable by humans. You get to hoard all of your materials which you get to be made into decorations for the city. Along the way you meet several friendly chibi-style humans, who move into the city to set up shops or just to he your friends. The main storyline is finished when you create a town hall and elect a mayor, but you can carry on to make your city into your dream.
