Right on, looks like a good idea. I worked for a asphalt roofer once and I learned that metal is the way to go. We were replacing 40 year roofs that were less than 20 years old. Those warranties are not worth the single wrapper that they are written on.

How would you repair just a few shingles if, say they got hit by lightning and a hole was blown in one or two shingles. Can you remove one by itself?

The screws didn't look like they had any type of sealing washer under the head of the screw so what's to keep them from leaking when the stone lamination eventually erodes away from around the screw head?
