This is great, I never thought to use this spatula to remove the paper period I also just discovered by accident that if I crawl the Mat back to give me a lip under the paper for the spatula, it actually peels from the paper and leaves the paper straight.

Thank you for this so much. I'm a beginner to Cricut and was working on a project as a gift with 65lb cardstock. The method of peeling the mat away kept tearing the delicate leaf cuts. I did your preferred method and it worked SO much better! <3

Good comment regarding the mat peel away method. It would drive me crazy to put the sticky side down and immediately collect all the dust and fiber on an otherwise clean mat.

I’m new at this.. just got mi Cricut today… and how do I know the weight of my card stock.. I went hobby lobby and get a few but I don’t know..and can the cardstock be used on the purple mat or just on the green one.. thanks

while watching this, I just figured out that if you let the long mat hang over your table, the paper will lift up! so just pull your mat further so it drops more and more as your design peels off! Glory to God!!! hope this helps lol
