Compressor makes it sound good and the more compressor you use the more gooder the sound is

Bassist here. A compressor tightens the gap between your low end and your high end. This helps give your bass more presence in a mix and/or gives your notes a nice attack for more lead style playing like slapping.

The compressor is an absolute must for things that aggressively change the volume (slopping, popping, pinch harmonics, hammer ons/pull offs) It basically levels out the sound.

I know you know but for everyone else, a compressor basically just makes quiet sounds louder and louder sounds quieter. It just makes your signal volume more even. You lose a good bit of the dynamic of "harder picking means louder sound".

The BOSS blues driver, is that your main distortion, or do you use it more as a clean boost? I ask because I have 2 TS-9 and one I use that way, the other has incredible sustain

A compressor lowers the rhythm back frequency while enhancing ur current lead leveling both volume evenly it works well if u use a loop interfacer
