Houston police chief is pushing for a 40% increase in officers to tackle uninvestigated crimes, while the mayor highlights previous efforts to address crime, amidst concerns of overcriminalization from county officials.

Bull Crap! This means more people will have to deal with corruption and tickets by those with badges. Your taxes will go up and the crimes will still be there. Never put your trust and faith into one man's idea about money and where it should go. This guy is nothing but a joke. I bet he sits behind a desk and gets paid for it.

Acevado screwed the department finner picked up after Acevedo made zero changes to boost morale in Hpd. Many good officers left to preserve their mental health due to being overworked and getting absolutely no time off with family etc etc. Also not to mention patrol being the bottom of the barrel and treated like stray dogs and IA dinging officers for anything and everything in order to prevent them from leaving HPD. When HPD fixes itself I'm sure officers will come back.
