Great Film…don’t miss it!
Author Bob Lipinski on IMDb

The film is excellent beginning to end! The footage, crisp, vivid colors, vineyard scenes, comments by vignerons (Alex Gambal, Véronique Drouhin-Boss and others), music, gaiety, laughter, and celebrations. Filmmaker Rudi Goldman interwove food and cooking into the film, showing people having fun while discussing the business of wine. The film ultimately lives up to its name, "People With a Passion for Wine" (and life)!

A Must See Film!

Gifted filmmaker Rudi Goldman has done it again! This is a stunningly beautiful film, that is not just about wine, but about the culture, and the people, and their passion for the centuries old lifestyle and celebrations surrounding winemaking. The film has won numerous awards, because it brilliantly captures the essence and the beauty of a region and a people, whose livelihoods, lifestyles and love of wine and food are expertly portrayed by Goldman. If you're looking for a fast paced adventure flick, this is not the movie for you. If you are intellectually curious, and appreciate quality filmmaking, outstanding visuals, interesting interviews, and the opportunity to learn about wine, and Burgundy, in particular, this film is a must see!

“Loved the film. I will recommend it to my L2 students. It captures the spirit and uniqueness of Burgundy without being overly academic or overly poetic. Well done!”

Goldman’s film surpasses another recent documentary about the Burgundy wine scene, David Kennard’s A Year in Burgundy. Both offer high-quality cinematography, beautiful to view from a Blu-ray disc on a large-format, high-definition display. But whereas Kennard employed a ponderous narrator to tell his viewers what to think, Wise and now Goldman trust their respective audiences to come to their own conclusions, stimulated by the pictorial, musical, and verbal inspiration the films provide.

“Rudi, I just enjoyed your wonderful film. Two complaints: one, it ended. I wish it could have run for hours. Two, I was not there for every second of filming and research. Your beautiful photography whisked me back to Burgundy and so many wonderful memories of our time there a few years back. I got pretty hungry and thirsty, too! I will be recommending this film to my many winelover friends.”

“Excellent visuals and audio, makes you feel like you are actually there, and, if not, makes you want to go there. I particularly liked the emphasis on the human element, bringing Burgundy to life. The "interviews" incorporate both English and French, with the latter adding more realism and authenticity to the film. I felt the segments on tasting and describing Burgundy wine were excellent, and thoroughly enjoyed the personalities in the film.”

The Burgundians have their own cachet and this documentary captures it perfectly. Whether or not you are a lover of wine, the entire film is so watchable and will entice you to set out on a journey to discover the enigma that is this wine region. So skilfully filmed, the cinematography makes this wine community come alive in every frame. Don't miss watching it, with a glass of Meursault in your hand.
