There are always a few countries that confirm with the EBU but don't make an announcement until the participant list is released, and if feels like we might have quite a few of those those this year. Only 28 at this point feels low, but I guess some countries are taking their time with their plans or are just not being public with their confirmations.

Greece today confirmed who is gonna represent Eurovision 2024

I feel mostly confident we’ll get 39 countries with all 37 from last year and 🇱🇺🇲🇰. 🇲🇨 is seeming more likely they’ll return as well and I still choose to be pretty hopeful for 🇲🇪. I think it was the U.K. hosting that was the specific problem causing even higher costs. 🇧🇬 would be a nice surprise though. I’m more confident in 🇹🇷 returning sooner than before but no this year.

As a Bulgarian, I doubt the excuse of the financial issues. The national TV not having money (100k BGN = 50k €) when they can ask for them at the formation of the national budget. For me, it's shame from our fiasco in 2022 (39th out of 40) that holds them back from participating. There is 1 more week, tho, everything can happen but for us is game over until the 30s or late 20s, for sure.

I lean towards Australia staying. SBS has always relied on outside funding for their entries. Than again, it's possible that they can't find any funding and they have to withdraw.

Australia, Armenia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Georgia, Greece, Latvia, Poland, Slovenia
These countries definitely are participating leading a grand total of 37*
