Let it be noted that even the "cheap" parts they used are WAY more expensive than they needed to be. 130$ for a steering servo? You can get full aluminum gearbox servos for less than 50$ and are waterproof.

As a budding RC guy (real cars are 'spensive) this was a cool concept. This was entertaining, but people want answers and this gave none. No specs, no times, no even comparisons; we just want an outcome on the cars, not just on 2 guys driving skills that have never done this before. Maybe not everyone wants the spec sheets and deep dive like me, but there was a lot more at play here than just the cost. Why are the internals more expensive and what advantage did they actually offer?
