The facelifted 2024 Skoda Kamiq small SUV has arrived in Australia and while the price has risen slightly, the standard equipment list has risen considerably arguably making the Czech runabout better value than before.

It retains a number of unusual but useful features, such as an umbrella hidden in the door and several other clever storage features, while offering dual digital screens and a pair of very frugal and fun turbo-petrol engines.

Together with a new pay-as-you-go pricing arrangement, starting at $82 per week, the new Skoda Kamiq also has sharp national drive-away pricing of $33,990. Senior Editor Feann Torr takes us through all the changes to the updated European SUV in this video.

I have a 2021 Kamiq. It's not perfect, but for the reasons I bought it, I like it a lot.

Other than the front head lights and power drivers seat it looks exactly the same as my 2021 Monte Carlo Kamiq

I always find it interesting that different markets have different specifications I have the exact same model here in the uk and I have traffic sign recognition variable boot floor rear centre arm rest with cup holders in it adaptive cruise control plus I opted for heated windscreen seats and steering wheel blind spot monitoring matrix headlights and power tailgate all in all it’s a great car

Really good review. Has Skoda dropped the adjustable floor? I'm sure the previous version had one. The Fabia doesn't have one either and you can't even order it which is a shame because it's really handy for sliding in bicycles and furniture. I'd check the Skoda website but it's been knackered for ages which isn't a good look.

Skoda is the budget brand and has a smattering of cheap scratchy plastic...have you sat in a VW T-Roc lately?! Skoda and VW vehicles are basically on par, in fact I'd go so far as to say I prefer Skoda's interior design and materials choices.

This Kamiq Monte Carlo needs a supercharger for the 1.5 as a twincharger since VRS.

If you are considering buying a Kamiq ensure that the Automatic locking system has an override facility if not its a potential deathtrap
